OUR MISSION

TEMPO builds self-esteem and empowerment through musical and creative expression, education, and performance. By providing workshops and technical training to girls, trans, and non-binary youth ages 12-18, we create leadership opportunities, cultivate a supportive community of peers and mentors, encourage social change, and foster the development of life skills.

We are volunteer-run, and believe all girls, trans, and non-binary youth should have access to camp. Camp is a trans-affirming space, and we celebrate our campers of color and LGBTQIA+ campers. We work to meet our campers' transportation, technological, or financial needs.

OUR VALUES

  • Build confidence in campers through music education and personal expression

  • Cultivate a safe space for campers to take creative risks

  • Foster a community where campers support one another and work together

  • Facilitate self-discovery through experiential learning, collaboration, and leadership

  • Encourage campers to compliment each other on ideas rather than appearance

  • Integrate diversity appreciation into creative development

  • Help campers recognize, understand, and fight against ALL forms of discrimination
